Summary: Grace Lynn Stevenson is a wealthy, beautiful girl who associates with the in crowd, plus she’s already dating the sort of guy every girl at her school wants. One would expect she would be happy, but she is hiding a deep secret she could tell no one – she is having strange dreams and has feelings of loneliness she can’t explain. When she meets Sebastian Caldwood she is also meeting a guy who is keeping secrets of his own. At first he seems the perfect friend, conversational, funny and enigmatic, but that is before she really gets to know him. This is when she finds out he isn’t a normal guy.

  • When Grace meets Sebastian this is when things start to change for her as she starts to wonder about who he really is rather than being moody about her own shortcomings. The mere fact she is sad and depressed within the exterior of a popular girl at school is different from what we’ve come to know, especially in teen romance. The popular girl is usually the one everyone despises but aspires to be. The popular girl isn’t supposed to be plagued with sadness, depression, not even acne, so Grace is a welcome slant on the popular girl myth.
  • Sebastian is an unusual guy anyway, he’s beautiful, enigmatic, and looks younger than he actually is. You get the impression he is much older in terms of years, and he has a habit of being able to get whatever he wishes for. When she wants to find out more of who he is and his past, she finds he doesn’t know either, so rather than just being an enigma to others and hiding his true self, he is a mystery to himself too.
  • It’s well written and it’s easy to get into the minds of the characters.
