Title: How to Twist a Dragon’s Tale (How to Train Your Dragon, Book 5)
Author: Cressida Cowell
Format: Audible Audio Book
Listening Length: 3 hours and 50 minutes
Narrator: David Tennant

Teamwork: I really liked the fact that Hiccup is ready and willing to make up his own team with members from different tribes. It sure would be nice to have Stoic the Vast listen better to his son.

Coolest Dragon: Toothless becomes a hero! He does a mighty deed and proves what a stalwart little fellow he is. There’s also a fire dragon that is born out of lava. That’s pretty epic.

Love Suffers Long and is Kind: I was happy to see that the star-crossed romance in this book followed the Biblical saying. Both parties suffered broken hearts, but neither were inclined to be evil or cruel because of it to those around them. One tried, but could not, because it wasn’t in him. I also liked that it didn’t have to be revealed to a third and innocent party in order to be acknowledged.

What I didn’t like: In the epilogue, the author delivers the idea that good and evil are intertwined, and can’t exist without the other. I emphatically believe the opposite. It’s like saying you can’t really enjoy happiness without knowing sorrow, which I don’t agree with either, because all you have to do is look at little children playing to know that’s not true. However, I do agree that evil is the cause of its own downfall.

Narrator Review: David Tennant can sing on key and off as we’re about to hear. That’s talent because if you can carry a tune it’s hard to not carry it on command. You’ll probably want to turn down the volume when it comes to the sour singing, but at least you know it’s on purpose. I enjoyed the victory songs throughout this book.
